If your teeth are damaged or missing, Dr. Daniel Monday and Dr. Stephen Graziani may recommend a dental crown or bridge to restore or replace them. These restorations are designed to give you beautiful, long-lasting results for your smile.

What Are Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns, or caps, are a restoration designed to cover the entire visible portion of your tooth. Our dentists will typically recommend a dental crown to:

  • Restore a tooth that has sustained damage, such as cracking, chipped or decay
  • Strengthen a tooth that is fractured or weak
  • Protect a tooth following a root canal
  • Cover and complete a dental implant
  • Improve the appearance of a misshapen tooth
  • Support a tooth with a large filling and little remaining natural tooth structure
  • Anchor and attach a dental implant

Crowns are custom-made to fit over your entire tooth, restoring its original shape and size and protecting it from any further damage. With a crown, you can feel confident in eating, speaking and sharing your smile with others.

What Are Dental Bridges?
Dental bridges are recommended to replace a single tooth or several missing teeth in a row. They are a fixed, non-removable solution, custom-made to fit your smile perfectly. Bridges are highly durable, lasting for many years once placed. A bridge may be anchored in place with two dental crowns on the teeth to either side of the bridge or with dental implants. Our dentists may recommend a dental bridge to:

  • Restore your ability to speak, eat and chew normally
  • Alleviate excess stress on your bite
  • Support the shape and volume of your face
  • Replace a removable partial denture
  • Prevent your remaining natural teeth from shifting out of position
  • Improve the appearance of your smile

Receiving A Crown or Bridge
Both crowns and bridges take two appointments to complete. At the first appointment, our dentists will take impressions and prepare your teeth. Temporary crowns will be provided to protect your teeth while your final restoration is completed. Once your crown or bridge is ready, you will return for your second appointment, and we will check that your final crown or bridge fits correctly before bonding it permanently into place.
